Step 1: Upload your signature. Drag and drop or click to select a JPG, PNG, or WebP image. Use a scan or phone photo of your handwritten signature on white paper.

Step 2: Automatic resizing. The tool resizes your signature to 520 x 160 pixels - the middle of the allowed range (250-580 x 80-180 px) - and adjusts JPEG quality to keep file size between 3 and 300 KB.

Step 3: Validate and download. Check the validation checklist to confirm dimensions, file size, aspect ratio, and format all pass. Then download the resized image and upload it to GOAPS.

Digital or typed signatures. GOAPS rejects any signature that appears to be digitally generated, typed, or drawn with a mouse or stylus in a paint application. You must use a physical pen on paper and then scan or photograph it.

ALL CAPS or initials only. Writing your name in block capitals is not accepted as a signature. Similarly, using only your initials (like "M.D.") instead of a full signature will be rejected. Your signature should be your natural, full handwritten signature.

Wrong ink color. Only black or dark blue ink is accepted. Red, green, pencil, or other colored inks will get rejected. Use a ballpoint or gel pen in black or dark blue.

Too much whitespace or noise. If your signature is very small within a large scanned area, the resized version will look tiny and may not pass the coverage requirement (70-80% of image area). Crop tightly around the signature before uploading. Also remove any stray marks, lines, or paper texture from the image.

Use the right paper and pen. Sign on a blank white sheet (no lines, no grid). Use a black or dark blue ballpoint or gel pen with a medium tip. Avoid fountain pens that may bleed or create uneven lines. The contrast between dark ink and white paper produces the cleanest scan.

Sign at the right size. Make your signature roughly 8-10 cm wide and 2-3 cm tall on paper. This matches the target aspect ratio (width about 3x the height) and ensures the signature fills the frame well after resizing.

Photograph from directly above. If using a phone instead of a scanner, hold the phone directly above the signature (not at an angle) in good lighting. Shadows from your hand or phone can darken parts of the image. Natural daylight near a window works best.

Keep your signature consistent. Use the same signature you use on official documents. On exam day, you will need to sign on an attendance sheet, and it must match the uploaded signature. Changing your signature style between registration and exam day can cause verification issues.
