GATE 2026 Fee Structure
The fee structure is set by the organizing IIT each year. GATE 2026 is organized by IIT Guwahati. The table below shows the official fee per paper. If you register for 2 papers (only specific combinations are allowed), the fee is charged separately for each paper.

Two-Paper Registration Rules
GATE allows you to register for a second paper, but only from a list of pre-approved combinations published in the GATE brochure. You cannot pick any two papers freely. For example, CS can be combined with MA (Mathematics), and ME can be combined with PI (Production and Industrial). The second paper is scheduled on a different day so there is no time conflict.
Each paper is charged separately at the same per-paper rate. A General male candidate registering for 2 papers pays Rs 2,000 x 2 = Rs 4,000 during regular registration. The late fee is also applied per paper if you register after the deadline.
Registering for 2 papers gives you 2 separate scorecards. This is useful when you want to apply for M.Tech in departments that accept different papers, or when you want to keep PSU recruitment options open across disciplines. Payment is processed through the GOAPS portal.

The fee increased by Rs 100 from GATE 2023 to GATE 2024, stayed the same for GATE 2025, then went up by Rs 200 for GATE 2026. International candidates pay the same INR fee as Indian General male candidates.
