NAT questions require you to type a numerical answer. There is an acceptable range (usually small), and any answer within that range gets full marks. MSQ questions require selecting all correct options - partial selection scores zero.

What is the negative marking in GATE?
For MCQs: 1-mark questions have -1/3 penalty for wrong answers, 2-mark questions have -2/3 penalty. NAT (Numerical Answer Type) and MSQ (Multiple Select) questions have no negative marking.
How many questions are in the GATE exam?
GATE has 65 questions totaling 100 marks. The split is typically 30 one-mark questions (30 marks) and 35 two-mark questions (70 marks). This includes 10 General Aptitude questions worth 15 marks.
Is there partial marking in GATE?
